Our sustainability work
At Segers, we see sustainability as the sum of many well-considered decisions.
It is about materials, production and transport – but also about quality, longevity and the people behind each garment. Our workwear is developed to be used often and for a long time. Through careful product development, high quality requirements and our own production in Europe, we create garments that last over time and can be used for many working days. At the same time, we take responsibility for the people who make our products. Through close cooperation with our factories, we can ensure safe working conditions and long-term relationships throughout the value chain.
For us, sustainability starts with doing things right from the start.
Our promise
Sustainability through quality
Clothing that is used for a long time is often the most sustainable option. That's why we develop workwear that can withstand everyday demands and maintain its function, fit and quality over time. Through careful product development, high quality requirements and extensive testing, we create workwear that is used often and for a long time - year after year.
Responsibility throughout the value chain
Most of our products are manufactured by our own employees in our factory in Ukraine. Together with product development in Borås and warehouses and logistics in Estonia, this gives us good visibility into the entire process. We work actively to ensure safe working conditions, a safe working environment and respect for human rights. Our work is supported by, among other things, OEKO-TEX® STeP and OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN, which place high demands on both production and working conditions.
Responsible material choices
We continuously work to ensure that our products meet high demands on chemical content and product safety. Through our own Restricted Substance List (RSL), based on the EU's REACH legislation, we set clear requirements for our suppliers and carry out regular checks. At the same time, we are developing our material range by using materials such as TENCELâ„¢ Lyocell, Better Cotton and recycled polyester where it creates value for both the user and the environment.
For us, sustainability is not about a single action or certification. It is about taking responsibility for people, products and processes – and constantly working to become better.
Segers simplifies for the supplierÂ
Choosing the right material is about both quality and responsibility. That's why we work actively to ensure that our products meet high requirements for chemical content, safety and sustainability.
We follow the development of the EU's chemicals legislation REACH and continuously work together with our suppliers to ensure that particularly hazardous substances are not used in our products.
Through our own Restricted Substance List (RSL), we set clear requirements for our suppliers and carry out regular checks and spot tests. At the same time, we are working to develop our material range. By using materials such as TENCELâ„¢ Lyocell, Better Cotton and recycled polyester, we can reduce resource use and contribute to more responsible textile production.
Our work is also strengthened through OEKO-TEX® STeP and OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN. The certifications set high requirements for chemical management, environmental work, traceability and social responsibility in production. For our customers, this means increased transparency and extra security that the products are manufactured with consideration for both people and the environment.
For us, sustainability is about well-thought-out choices - from fiber to finished garment.
Dressed smartly with a clear conscience
Producing workwear means responsibility. For people, for resources and for the future. That is why we work with sustainability as a natural part of our entire business – from design and material selection to production, quality and lifespan.
We develop workwear that is created to be used frequently and long-lasting. Through high quality requirements, our own production and close control over the value chain, we work to reduce our impact and create long-term value for both people and the environment.
