Our history
No.1 since its inception in 1943
One day in Borås in 1943, Gustav Segerqvist decided to stop working as a carpenter. He bought a bicycle and a suitcase and set out to the villages around Borås on his bicycle to sell clothes. After a few years, Gustav had cycled to most of the villages in the parish and it had gone so well that the suitcase was upgraded to an office and our first seamstresses were hired. Segers Fabriker was born.
Our organization
With Segers, you have full control from start to finish. We own our own production facility in Ukraine and have warehousing and logistics in Estonia. The right garment at the right time, produced in a fair way. Quality and production control takes place from the headquarters in Borås. 90% of Segers' range is manufactured by our own staff. We were early to take responsibility for good working conditions for all employees. Our code of conduct has for many years been a natural part of the work to ensure sound working conditions at our factories and with our suppliers.

For many years, we have owned our own production units in Ukraine, Estonia, and for a few years also a unit in Pakistan, which gives us full control. As a customer, you always have the opportunity to visit our factories to see how we work with environmental and social responsibility. We have had several visits from customers, suppliers, and other external companies and organizations, including JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency), which has visited us several times. JICA is very impressed with our way of working on gender equality issues and presented Segers Pakistan at their seminar in Japan in September 2019. Segers, for example, has one of the few female cutters in Pakistan.

As an employee at Segers, you have, among other things, the right to work in bright and hygienic premises with good heating and ventilation. You have the right to go home with pay even if the order books are not full. Working hours are according to each country's legislation, and everyone receives compensation for overtime and paid vacation as well as contributions to pension and insurance. Segers also takes responsibility for helping the local population outside the obvious employer areas. This has included everything from purchasing defibrillators for hospitals and materials for schools to sponsoring the local music school at our production unit in Ukraine.
