Sustainability

At Segers, we take a broad view of sustainability, although there is naturally a strong focus on the product. Textile production is both complex and challenging from a sustainability perspective. In the workwear business we have a major sustainability advantage over the fashion industry, where there is often more disposability. Our workwear gets heavy, long-term use. Extremely heavy use for a very long period of time in fact!

Careful quality and environment work and full control thanks to our own factories helps us ensure a long lifespan and limit our environmental impact. We also take responsibility for our factory staff by ensuring that their working environment is good and that they enjoy security, now and in the future.

Segers Green

Segers Green is a range of durable, sustainable products made from low environmental impact materials.

AMFORI-BSCI

Business Social Compliance Initiative, one of the world’s largest sustainability initiatives to create a more responsible supply chain. The Amfori BSCI is run by the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) in Brussels. At the request of the Amfori BSCI, our production is checked by an independent institute.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100

Since 1992, the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 has become an international measure of reliability throughout the entire fabrics chain. The Oeko-Tex system ensures that fabrics that have passed the tests and been certified do not contain harmful substances. The list of requirements contains over 100 test parameters to ensure that the fabrics are not harmful.

ISO 9001

International standard for efficient and structured quality work. Internal working methods are reviewed through a number of basic principles. Constant improvements are made to increase efficiency and profitability. This ensures the quality of services and products. Segers certification in Pakistan was carried out in March 2019.

ISO 14001

Recent years have seen environmental issues come to the fore, and today these issues have a prominent place in our business concept. Our customers are becoming more and more environmentally committed, which is reflected in their purchases of clothing. They require their suppliers to be environmentally certified. That is why we began to introduce the ISO 14001 environmental management system in November 1998. ISO certification was completed in May 2000.
